The new CHENyx06 triangular transformation network enables precise transformations from the old Swiss LV03 coordinate system to the new LV95 system and vice versa. The FINELTRA data viewer shows this triangular transformation network on an interactive map. It is possible to estimate the accuracy of the conversion between the LV03 and LV95 reference frames and thus also indirectly of the connection to international reference systems such as WGS84 or ETRS89. WGS84 is used as the reference frame for GPS observations and as well, for example, for Google Earth and Google Maps.
For users of the positioning service swipos with the realtime-FINELTRA option (service LV03/LN02), the empirical accuracy map indicates the attainable positioning accuracy in the reference frame LV03 for all regions in Switzerland.
