The Geological Data Viewer is the visual access to the data of the Swiss Geological Survey and other institutions in the field of earth sciences. The availability of the most relevant map series may be enquired, and the respective maps and datasets may be visualized.
Whether geology is your profession or your hobby, the Geological Data Viewer quickly provides information for preliminary investigations in geological projects or simply as a geological encyclopaedia.
The Geological Data Viewer has been designed as an extension of the Geological Map Index (see below) and recently replaced it.

Geological Map Index
The Geological Map Index gives an overview of the available data (to about the year 2011) of the Geological Atlas of Switzerland 1:25 000, the special geological maps, the original geological maps as well as the published original sketchmaps and profiles.
Early in 2012 the Geological Map Index was replaced by the Geological Data Viewer (see above).
