With the help of a powerful map viewer users are quickly led from one step to the next. They can provide information about amendments, errors and additions regarding all swisstopo products, by classifying them according to predefined themes. The reporting procedure is divided into three steps: location, description and report. It is possible to return to previous steps without loss of information. As well as the transmission of the geometry as a point, line or polygon, the revision service offers the opportunity to integrate images or GPS data and to set up a user account.
Following transmission of information a confirmation message is sent to the user. The data transmitted by the revision service are added daily to an internal swisstopo database. If need be, the report is forwarded to the production group responsible for processing the relevant data. The information forwarded will be taken into consideration in the next update.
Revision Service – now also for Smartphones!
The Revision Service is available for mobile devices like Smartphones and other tablet devices. Our mobile revision service has been optimised for small screens and can be downloaded as a web application for iPhone, iPad or Android devices at “mobile.map.revision.admin.ch”. Menu functions are downscaled compared with existing map viewers. The mobile revision service allows updates to be submitted to swisstopo in just a few easy steps – accurately, and with geodata map references. The mobile revision service has full functionality for geometric data, images and GPS data (for Android devices only).
