From topography to geodata

First, the film explains what ‘geodata’ are and briefly presents swisstopo and its activities. Then, the film documents the various steps in producing geodata: the collection of aerial views, the creation of numerical terrain models, ortho-rectification and the compilation of vector information. The topographic model of the landscape in 3 dimensions (MTP) of swisstopo is also presented. Finally the film demonstrates how the geodata are delivered to private clients and institutions, and how they are archived and stored.
