Height Models

Height models are digital data sets which show the form of the earth's surface in 3D. Each set of X and Y coordinates shows a height (Z). Different products are available for various applications.

swissALTI3D

swissALTI3D is a very precise digital elevation model which describes the surface of Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein without vegetation and development. It is updated in an update cycle of 6 years.

DOM

High precision height models based on a density of 0.5 points per m², established by airborne laser scanning (accuracy 0.5 to 1.5 m) are covering Switzerland below 2000 m.

DHM25

Example of DHM25

This detailed height model is based on the Swiss National Map 1:25 000 (precision 1.5 to 10 m), with grids of 25 m, 50 m, 100 m, 200 m and 1000 m. It extends over the whole of Switzerland and adjacent areas.
