Images

images of swisstopo are an instant view of the landscape, taken from airplanes or from satellites. These survey photographs allow for geometrically high precision processing.

Aerial photographs

Aerial photographs

In our airplanes we can have analogue and digital cameras installed. A free choice of flying heights and focal lengths allows for production of a large variety of scales so as to satisfy the highest accuracy requirements.

Ortho images

Ortho images

Images which have been freed of their distortions and therefore show a uniform scale over their entire surface are designated as ortho images. They can for instance be overlaid with map elements.

Satellite images

Satellite images

Due to their rather small scale satellite images are mostly used for regional questions.
