    First steps...

When launched for the first time, Swiss Map Mobile 2009 iPhone Edition shows the map
1:1 million, centered on Berne (E 600 000, N 200 000). In order to scroll the map (so-called “panning”) to the region of your interest efficiently, drag the displayed map with your finger in the desired direction OR activate the moving map function by tapping on the circle-shaped symbol in the bottom left corner – by this, the map is centered to your actual geographic position, according to GPS positioning of the iPhone.

The map 1:1 million is pre-installed – you can freely pan the map without having the displayed map tiles being debited from your tile asset.

Now, you can change to the next scale 1:500 000 by double-tapping (using one finger) the screen. With this change between 6 and 9 map tiles are downloaded via Internet and debited from your tile asset. In order to get more map data of this scale, pan with your finger. If you want to proceed to more detailed maps (1:100 000 and 1:25 000), repeat this procedure (double-tap).

A tap with two fingers brings you back to a smaller scale (1:25 000 -> 1:100 000 -> 1:500 000 -> 1:1 Mio). All downloaded map tiles remain in the internal memory of your iPhone until deinstallation of the application.

A fully downloaded section uses a maximum of 700 MB of the memory.
