The product Swiss Map Mobile integrates the Swiss national maps with your iPhone – from precise and detailed with the most accurate topographic map of swisstopo to the clear 1:1 million map. With the typical iPhone gestures you seamlessly zoom in and out on the map or select the desired scale.
Thanks to the integrated GPS receiver, Swiss Map Mobile on the iPhone provides the indication of the actual position (including Moving Map function) and the recording of waypoints and routes.

Complete range of functions for CHF 4.40
The application includes an initial asset of half a map sheet to allow testing out Swiss Map from anywhere with real map material and the complete range of functions.

You can obtain additional map material through Swiss Map Mobile sections directly from within the application. The sections contain unlimited access from your iPhone to the Swiss national maps 1:500 000 and 1:1 million of the entire Switzerland as well as 1:25 000 and 1:100 000 for the surface covered by the section (division of the sections as in Swiss Map 25).
Tiles packages (since version 1.1)
Version 1.1 introduces so-called tiles packages. You have now the possibility to buy:
- 1 000 tiles (CHF 4.40) or
- 5 000 tiles (CHF 18.--)
These tiles can be used as known from the initial asset of 420 tiles anywhere and independently from map sections. According to Apple's terminology they are called "consumables". The sections are so-called "non-consumables".
Purchase of hiking trails (new since version 2.0) for CHF 9.90 per section *
With version 2.0 the hiking trails are available. You can purchase access to the official Swiss footpath network directly from the application Swiss Map Mobile. Each section gives unlimited access of the hiking trails, mountain trails and alpine trails to your iPhone for its perimeter (according to division of the sections as in Swiss Map 25).
Data transfer and costs
Swiss Map Mobile iPhone Edition loads the map tiles and the hiking trails from a server through the internet and thus requires an internet connection. The costs of the data transfer are not included in the sales price of Swiss Map Mobile – enquire about the data amount included in your subscription plan.
To avoid the costs of the data transfer, you can load map data on your iPhone for free via WLAN (open access or from home). Downloaded tiles are stored on the iPhone and retrieved from the internal memory without the need for further data transfer. Obviously, the temporary storage is lost upon deinstallation of the application.
