Positioning (swipos)

The Swiss Positioning Service (swipos) is based on the Automated GNSS Network Switzerland (AGNES) and enables real-time positioning accuracies at the centimeter level using GPS and GLONASS. The required observation and correction data are made available to the mobile users by means of GSM/GPRS.

Positioning service for users with accuracy needs in the meter range, like e.g. navigation, GIS data collection and mapping, forestry or conservation of the environment.

Positioning service for users with accuracy needs in the centimeter or decimeter range. Typical applications are cadastral surveying, GIS data collection or machine control and guidance.

The observation data of the AGNES stations are made available as real-time data streams for further processing in corresponding software packages. Applications are the monitoring of infrastructure (e.g. roads, bridges, dams) or of terrain movements (e.g. land slides, rock, glacier).

The observation data of the AGNES stations are made available as data files for post-processing applications. Applications are surveying tasks of all kind with advanced accuracy needs.
