For the needs of Geodesy and Land Surveying swisstopo produces or procures software constantly improved and developed since a long time. The programs cover all areas of traditional surveying, geodesy and GPS positioning.
For surveyors and planning offices, large construction projects, offices and service businesses (eg in transport, energy or telecommunication) swisstopo offers software solutions, which facilitate the work and improve the quality of the results.
The modules have been constantly refined in recent years and adapted to the new technologies (GIS, internet, mobility). They have proved themselves over years in the national survey, where high precision is required.
The programs can be divided into different classes which include the entire way from the field data collection, the assessment to the graphical presentation of the results:

- REFRAME DLL
Program library for reference frame transformation in planimetry and/or altimetry. Contains all relevant transformation algorithms and data for Switzerland.
- REFRAME FME Plug-in
«Transformer» allowing all the transformations which are integrated in the REFRAME software, to be used in the FME Software.
- CHENyx06 data set (FINELTRA or NTv2)
National triangular network's definition. Basic dataset for reference frame transformation between LV03 and LV95.
- CHGeo2004 data set
Swiss geoid model. Allows the transformation between ellipsoidal heights (Bessel) and orthometric heights (LHN95).
- Scripts for LV03<->WGS84
Various scripts for the transformation between coordinates (LV03) and WGS84 (ETRS89).
