CHENyx06 data set

CHENyx06 is the official transformation data set to convert LV03 into the new reference frame LV95 with high accuracy - or vice versa.

CHENyx06 is integrated in the swisstopo software products which can process the transformation between LV03 and LV95 (such as REFRAME). A version for GNSS receivers is also available directly from manufacturers (eg Leica and Trimble).

The CHENyx06 dataset (binary file in FINELTRA format) can still be obtained free of charge separately, as an addition or update for old programs like FINELTRA or for third party products and tools, which provide the possibility to integrate the transformation.

For use in GNSS receivers and GIS software the dataset is also available in the form of a regular grid. In comparison to the rigorous transformation with the FINELTRA algorithm, the grid-based interpolation results in a slightly reduced accuracy.
This distortion grid in NTv2 format (National Transformation Version 2) is now used by many GIS systems. For Switzerland, such a grid with a resolution of 30 x 30 arc seconds was derived from CHENyx06 and can be downloaded for free.
