Documentation and support

If a problem with the use of our geodetic programs occurs or if you have a specific question about a functionality, you can find information here or contact us.

FAQ

Which environment variable swisstopo DOS software does need?

The installation of the DOS-based programs (LTOP, TRANSINT, KOORDIFF, etc.) is in the main directory LTPROG with various subdirectories. A system variable called «LTPROG», which points at this main directory, should be defined. The installation program sets this variable automatically.

If there are problems, this variable must be set manually:
Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-(Advanced)-Environment variables

Besides «LTPROG» you also need to set the path to the executable programs. In Windows 2000/XP/Vista change the variable «PATH» in the Control Panel: «C:\PROGRA~1\LTPROG\PROG» (or according to the installation path).

Manuals and updates

If you get an error message or a calculation was not carried out correctly, you can find information in the user's manual (or in the «Online help»).

If it still doesn't work correctly or if you get a crash, there is perhaps a problem with the software. In this case, please check if you have the latest version installed.
For this, you can use the online update functionality (menu «?»). If the software does not have this option (old DOS programs) or if it does not work (for example, blocked by Proxy / Antivirus), you can download and install manually the latest version.

Updates, test versions, datasets, manuals and other documents can be found on the «Downloads» page:

Remark: The manuals and documentation for the most part of geodetic software products are only available in German and French.
