During the past 15 years and under the auspices of the Swiss Geodetic Commission, the Geodesy and Geodynamics Lab at the ETHZ (GGL) and swisstopo have developed a new geoid model and various programs for calculating gravimetric data (e.g. deflections of the vertical and orthometric heights).
In view of an optimal collaboration and to assure the legitimate use of the gravity data and software, swisstopo and the GGL constituted the "Swiss Gravity Field Consortium" (SKS).
The service includes on-site gravity observations and their adjustment as well as various kinds of computations.
Swisstopo is also the contact for delivering:
- Observed and computed gravity values
- Calculated deviations of the vertical
- Orthometric corrections
- Computed geoid heights and height anomalies
