The Information Technology and Telecommunications Section operates swisstopo’s complex and dynamic IT infrastructure.
It is responsible for the secure and stable functioning of client, server, database, disc storage and telecommunications systems, for backup and electronic archiving services and in general for the procurement, operation and maintenance of all swisstopo’s IT systems. In close collaboration with the specialist Divisions of swisstopo or under their direction, the Section operates the major IT systems such as those for GIS, digital cartography and office services.
As Integrationmanager, the Section represents swisstopo in all IT and telecommunications matters in relation to its parent Department and other Departments of the Swiss Federal administration as well as its external partners.
