Concepts will be defined and projects initiated and supervised in the above mentioned thematic areas in the spirit of the implementation of geographical information strategy within the Federation.
The process will ensure the coordination and monitoring of Federal projects which involve the restitution, handling, management and distribution of geographical data, avoiding duplication of geographical data and utilisation of synergy. Further goals are the active advancement of geographical information in the Federation, especially basic geographical services, web-GIS applications and geoportals for Federal Offices in coordination with the e-government strategy of the Federation.
FSDI Coordination and Projects fosters the exchange of information to the COGIS- information groups of the Departments and to the Federal Offices responsible for e-government.
