The FSDI Web Infrastructure Process is responsible for the operation and the continuous development of FSDI and the Web infrastructure which was jointly built-up together with FOITT (Federal Office of Information Technology, Systems and Telecommunication). It serves as a basis for the provision of geographical base data, Web-GIS applications, internet geoportals for swisstopo and other Federal Offices. The requirements of the various divisions of swisstopo are supported by the Web presence which also contains the online shop (toposhop) where swisstopo products are sold.
FSDI Web Infrastructure
With the Federal Spatial Data Infrastructure (FSDI) the Federal Administration provides an environment where geographical information can be made available to the Administration or to the public at large. The infrastructure will be continuously enhanced taking into consideration the latest technological developments appropriate to the demands of swisstopo and other Federal Offices.
