The section “TLM” is responsible for the capture and maintenance of the topographic landscape model of Switzerland and adjacent parts of neighbouring countries. The topographic landscape model consists of the basic geographical data which describes in three dimensions the shape of the earth’s surface, the nature of the land cover and the names of features and places.
The TLM section fulfils these tasks by using image-based 3D and 2.5D data capture as well as field survey methods.
