Dufour Map in the House of Parliament

As part of the renovation of the parliament buildings, which is to be completed by November 2008, the topographic map of Switzerland, better known as the Dufour Map, has been placed in a prominent position. You will find it at the main entrance for visitors.

• Surveyed and published by order of the federal authorities
• Surveyed under the supervision of Guillaume-Henri Dufour 1845–1865
• Status of the map content: 1906–1908
• 25 sheets, each 70 x 48 cm, representing 3360 km2 per sheet;
  entire assembled map is 3.5 x 2.4 m
• Walnut frame, map mounted on paper
• Copper print by swisstopo 2008
