Supply with maps

In order to supply the armed forces with sufficient maps, swisstopo has a stockpile for lending. It is based on Regulation 51.024 (Organisation of Military Training).

For their services the units order the maps they require from the Armed Forces Logistics Organisation (AFLO). The latter checks the orders and passes these on to swisstopo for processing. All orders are made with form 21.010-1.

For planning and preparations career officers, career NCOs, commanders, General Staff officers, aviation personnel and parascouts are given a personal set of maps.

Receipt of maps at a reduced price during services

In order to promote map reading training, military personnel is allowed to buy national maps at a reduced price when on duty.

The respective documents are directly sent to the members of the forces. The accountant collects the orders and sends a collective order one week before the forces are dismissed from duty to swisstopo (by post/fax/e-mail) so that the maps can be delivered and invoiced in good time.
