This includes the following work:
- Establishment and revision of the national boundary
- Maintenance of the border markers
- Work involved in border trade-offs
- Conservation of the documentation (incl. the archive)
- Modernizing the documentation (GIS)
- Defining the coordinates of the markers in the European reference system ETRS89
Depending on the neighboring country, the work routines for maintaining the markers are regulated in treaties.
