AMP - CHTRF2016
About 200 LV95 reference points were selected to guarantee a tectonically stable location and to realize the Swiss coordinate reference systems. All points are suited for GNSS measurements. This passive network densifies the active Automated GNSS Network for Switzerland (AGNES).
Goals
The main goals are:
- The LV95 network, together with the permanent AGNES stations, realizes the Swiss coordinate reference systems. It serves as the basis for cantonal authorities and for municipalities for further densifications.
- Every 6 years, the network is re-measured in order to validate the stability of the reference points. The campaign data are analysed together with permanent stations in Switzerland and Europe in a common adjustment enabeling the link to international reference systems. Totally, more than 6 billion iono-free observations in more than 1 million files were combined to estimates coordinates of more than 1000 stations.
- LV95 is currently defined as a static reference frame. For the computation of CHTRF2016 velocity parameters are estimated for stations with a long enough time history in order to take into account possible movements. Based on the computed velocities a deformation model (CHDM) or a kinematic model (CHKM) for Switzerland may be computed. Such a model allows to keep the precision of the coordinates over a long time interval if coordinates from the actual epoch are transfered back to the epoch of the reference frame definition. The detected movements are also interesting for scientific purposes (tectonics, geology, seismics).
- Based on the CHTRF2016 combination, static coordinates are derived for epoch 1.1.2018 in the local Swiss reference system CH1903+, which is the official national reference system for all geobasis data regulated by federal law since end of 2016.

CHTRF2016 coordinates in reference system CH1903+ at epoch 2018.0
Horizontal velocities are estimated w.r.t ZIMM. Vertical velocities are estimated w.r.t. Europe (only permanent stations). Coordinates of AGNES sites are available on individual station web page, are permanently monitored and may change with changing instrumentation. For the LV95 sites no vertical velocities are estimated. Therefore, the averaged CHTRF2016 heights H effectively correspond to an epoch, depending on the weighting and distribution of the campaign observations, around year 2004. The specified vertical velocities vH are shown for test purpose and were not applied to the height values, but to the repeatability plots repplot.
Stations without published velocities are probably locally instable or might be observed not long enough for a reliable velocity estimation.
