Terms and conditions for delivery and use of published products, geodata and aerial images. 

These terms and conditions apply to the purchase and use of swisstopo products. 

Our products vary in terms of how they are delivered and used. They are divided into three categories:

• Published products are usually printed maps, books, publications, etc. They are distinguished by the fact that they are mass-produced and kept in stock. They are usually delivered by post.
• Geodata consist of spatially oriented data. swisstopo geodata are essentially digital national maps, aerial images, landscape and height models and geological maps. The geodata are free to be used in compliance with the terms of use. Most geodata can be downloaded free of charge from the swisstopo website. For other geodata or for special processing, an enquiry should be sent to [e-mail]. We will make you an offer for the costs of the provision of the data. Geodata are then delivered by download or on a data storage medium.
• Geoservices allow to access geodata via Internet. swisstopo provides a WMS geoservice in the swisstopo onlineshop. Many of swisstopo's geodata can be accessed via the geoservices of the Federal Spatial Data Infrastructure (FSDI). The geoservices are described on this page.

Swiss state schools, federal and cantonal research institutes, youth organisations and tax-exempt non-profit organisations can obtain paper maps at a reduced price, provided that they use them for teaching map-reading or for internal use or research purposes only.
