Your apprenticeship at swisstopo

• What will be my tasks?

  During your apprenticeship as a Commercial employee, you will communicate both in writing and verbally, in German or other languages, with internal and outside partners. You will write letters, emails and minutes, create graphs and presentations and update the books. You will also organise events and help advertise and sell our products. Your broad knowledge will serve as a basis for many further areas of study.

• What can I expect during the apprenticeship?

  • Exciting insights in the fields of human resources, sales, marketing, communication, management assistance, accounting and cadastral surveys
  • market-oriented remuneration: CHF 834.20 (1st year apprentice), CHF 1'027.55 (2nd year apprentice), CHF 1'568.50 (3rd year apprentice), per month and 13th monthly salary
  • 7 weeks of vacation per year
  • Working hours: 8 hrs 18 mins per day, 41.5 hrs per week
  • Training locations: Swiss Federal Office of Topography swisstopo in Wabern, vocational school and intercompany courses in Berne
  • Apprentice camp, language stays in case of good results, German course

• What further training is available after the internship?

  • Vocational baccalaureate and studies at a university of applied sciences
    
  • Professional examinations (e.g. management assistant, human resources specialist, marketing specialist, sales specialist, finance and accounting specialist)
  • Business school (Höhere Fachschule für Wirtschaft – HFW und Höhere Fachschule für Marketing & Kommunikation - HFMK)
  • Diploma examinations / higher professional examinations (e.g. head of human resources, accounting and controlling expert)
