Even more possibilities with swipos-GIS/GEO
With swipos, precise positioning is now even more flexible, secure, and simple. We’ve further developed our service to offer you new ways to use it.
What’s new:
More flexibility for swipos-GIS/GEO customers
From now on, in addition to the familiar VRS corrections, you can also use the data streams from an AGNES reference station directly. You have the choice: virtual reference station or direct CORS station—whichever is optimal for your application. You’ll find access information for each option on the new Technical details for swipos page.
Secure access with NTRIP 2 and SSL
The new access via our NTRIP 2 server with encrypted connection (SSL) provides greater security and future-proofing. The previous unencrypted NTRIP server will remain available. Access information for each option can also be found under Technical details for swipos.
Clearer general terms of use
Our Terms and Conditions have been updated to clarify how swipos can be used. For swipos-GIS/GEO and swipos-INFRA customers, nothing changes in day-to-day practice.
Improved compatibility—with responsibility
The previous restriction when fewer than five satellites are available has been removed. This means users of common tools such as RTKLib will reliably receive correction data.
Important: In rare cases and under certain conditions (for example, measurements in urban canyons or under trees with only a few visible satellites), reliable positioning may still be difficult despite receiving correction data. It therefore remains the customer’s (or end device’s) responsibility to check positioning quality at all times.
