Create a tour

Plan your next tours conveniently with the swisstopo app and create a personalised tour portal with destinations already reached and those still to be conquered.

Screens app to create a tour

To draw a route, it's best if you already have a starting point and destination in mind. To create a route:

  • Select the desired topic in the map overview, e.g., Hiking.
  • There are two ways to start planning a tour:
    • In the tour overview, tap the + button
    • From the desired starting point, select «Draw tour» in the menu
  • Draw the tour by long pressing the path at regular intervals along the desired route. By dragging the various points, you can move the route drawn until you are satisfied with the route.
  • Give the route a name.
  • You can adjust the speed and route colour as you wish. Tap on the gear icon to access the Settings menu.
  • Tap «OK» to confirm the tour, and it will then be saved in your tour portal.

Note: The National Maps do not contain information on restrictions on use or access or traffic regulations. When drawing a tour, we therefore recommend using the official hiking trail network or known paths. Restrictions and rules must be respected on site.

Tip: Add tags to a tour
To keep track of your tours in the tour portal, you can add tags to your individual tours. You can then use these tags to categorise and filter your tours. Create a tag by opening the Edit mode of the tour and tapping Tags. Here you can create new tags or assign existing tags to the tour.
