geocat.ch is the Swiss Catalogue for geometadata. Geometadata describe geospatial data and enable its search, evaluation and management.

geocat.ch documents the geospatial data of:

  • the federal offices;
  • cantons;
  • communes;
  • the Principality of Liechtenstein;
  • research institutes;
  • private companies ...

geocat.ch enables a quick search to information about spatial data. The geometadata of geocat.ch are being used by other portals, such as the geoportal map.geo.admin.ch and the swiss portal for opendata opendata.swiss.
