Eventful landscape in Reichenau
Event Details
Language of the event
German
Right at the start of our hike, we will encounter the field of boulders deposited by the Tamins landslide. Taking the path to Bonaduz, we will then discover the landscape shaped by the Flims landslide. Near the Wackenau ruins, we can admire the sediments deposited by the rupture of Lake Ilanz.
In Bonaduz, we will cross the Hinterrhein and follow the river towards Reichenau. Along the way, we will observe the valley infill that was disrupted by the Flims rockslide (Bonaduz Formation) and climb the flank of the Tamins rockslide.
From Ils Aults, in the direction of the Reichenau train station, the scarp of this rockslide is clearly visible.
