Geology for all
Geology is the study of the structure of our planet and the processes that take place on the surface and in the subsurface. The Swiss Geological Survey offers free geological excursions and easy-to-understand publications for anyone who wants to know more about geology and geological topics.

Geological knowledge is essential for the sustainable use and protection of underground space. Geological data and products form an important basis for projects in the fields of tunnelling, mining, energy exploitation and natural hazard mitigation. The expertise of geologists is a key factor in meeting the challenges facing society, such as the energy transition, resource supply and access to basic geological data.
Are you interested in understanding the landscape of Switzerland and discovering the secrets of the history of the Earth and rocks? The Swiss Geological Survey offers easy-to-understand publications and free excursions for all interested parties and school classes.
