From Sunday, 24 June 2018, 9:20am
To Sunday, 24 June 2018, 5:50pm

Place de l'Ichtyosaure 5 1663 Moléson-sur-Gruyères

Situated strategically at the front of the limestone foothills of the Alps, this emblematic summit, entirely within the canton of Fribourg, actually does let you see for miles around.
After an easy ascent with the funicular to Plan-Francey and an initial geological panorama, this excursion will take us through the tectonic folds and thrust faults to the village of Lessoc, majestically positioned on its impressive alluvial fan, which marked the southern edge of the Gruyère paleo-lake 17,000 years ago.
We will then follow the aptly-named valley of Intyamon up to the mysterious waterfall of Grandvillard, the village where our geological tour ends.
