The most important information at a glance:

• Qualification: Mediamatician with Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (EFZ)
• Duration: 4 years:
• – 1 year external for basic training at ICT Berufsbildungscenter AG in Bern
• – 3 years of apprenticeship in the communications and web department at swisstopo:
• Putting into practice the basic knowledge acquired in the first year of training in the areas of multimedia, design, web, marketing, IT, and project management.
• Vocational school: 2 days per week in Biel (BBZ)

Typical tasks as a mediamatician:

• Producing videos
• Creating content for social media
• Developing digital animations or illustrations
• Editing and managing images
• Designing print materials
• Creating and updating website content
• Collaborating on internal and external communications projects

• Where can I apply?

  There is one apprenticeship vacancy every three years. The next application period is in fall 2026. The apprenticeship will then run from 2027 to 2031. Our vacancy will be published onwww.stelle.admin.ch. It is easiest for us if you apply online.
