• FCO mediamatics technician traineeship

  Mediamatics technicians work at the intersection between several areas within the field of information and communication technologies (ICT). They develop websites, create content for social media, produce different types of media (leaflets, videos, animations, etc.), design presentations and facilitate corporate communication. They draw upon their knowledge of multimedia, design, marketing, IT and administration.

• What can I expect during the apprenticeship?

  • Once your year of basic training at ICT Berufsbildungscenter AG in Bern is complete, you will undertake a three-year traineeship in swisstopo’s Communication and Web department; vocational school at CFP in Bienne.
  • market-oriented remuneration: CHF 834.20 (1st year apprentice), CHF 1'027.55 (2nd year apprentice), CHF 1'568.50 (3rd year apprentice), CHF 1'868.55 (4rd year apprentice) per month and 13th monthly salary
  • 7 weeks of vacation per year
  • Excursions and camps for trainees.
  • School subjects: Languages (German, French, English), mathematics, natural sciences, history and politics, economics and law, follow-on modules in specific areas of study (marketing, photos, audio, video, web, etc.)
  • Federal Vocational Baccalaureate possible with good results

• Can I do an internship at swisstopo?

  There are no plans to offer mediamatics technician internships at swisstopo, but there are many other companies and educational institutions offering such opportunities: www.orientation.ch
  
  You can also attend an information session: at the Berufsbildungscenter vocational school in Bern, Zurich or St. Gallen.
  

• How do I apply?

  There is only one position offered every three years. The next trainee will be selected in autumn 2026 for the 2027-2031 training period.
