To enhance its series of 1:33,333 excursion maps, swisstopo has published the 3380T Lavaux, a new excursion map supplemented with geological information. To commemorate its publication, we will take you on a hike. From Lutry to Corseaux, we will cross the entire area covered by the UNESCO World Heritage list. Along the route, we will stop to observe the rocks, soils and topography of one of Switzerland’s most famous vineyards. We will show the relationship between the local geology and the emblematic grape varieties of Lavaux. The walk starts from the heart of the village of Lutry, meanders between walls, climbing from terrace to terrace and passing from one wine-growing village to another, and ends in Corseaux, above Vevey. You can then take the funicular railway to Vevey.
