The most important information regarding working hours, holiday entitlement, insurance and wages at the Federal Office of Topography, swisstopo.
swisstopo supports the compatibility of work and family life of employees with relatives in need of care, for example through flexible working arrangements or paid care leave in case of emergency. All employees have the opportunity to seek advice from the Federal Administration's personnel and social counselling service on the subject of caring for relatives. The aim is to take into account as far as possible the different needs of employees depending on the stage of their lives.

Working time / holiday
- Working time of 41.5 hours per week for full-time employees
- Flexible working hours (Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
- Annualised working hours
- Trust-based working hours (possible from salary level 24 upwards) forms of remuneration: +6% annual salary, +10 compensation days, a bonus of 100 hours on a sabbatical account
- 30 minutes of paid breaks (15 minutes in the morning, 15 minutes in the afternoon)
- Annual leave: 5 weeks, 6 weeks from aged 50 upwards, 7 weeks from age 60 upwards
- Public holidays according to the Federal Personnel Ordinance This document is only available in German, French or Italian
- 4 months paid maternity leave with the possibility of extension to 6 months
- 10 days of paternity leave

Salary, pension and insurance
- Advice available from the Swiss Federal Pension Fund Publica (www.publica.ch)
- Occupational and non-occupational accident insurance: from SUVA; general division throughout Switzerland
- No daily sickness allowance insurance: continued salary payment in the event of illness or an accident instead: 100% salary for 12 months. After the end of this period, the salary will be paid at a rate of 90% for a further 12 months
